Stitch-Up Your Chair

Posted in design, furniture design, product design, sustainable design with tags , , , , , , , , , , on June 15, 2009 by anonimiss

Liked this concept for ‘stitch your own furniture’ by designer Oscar Nunez. Apart from being a low-cost option, this could also be developed into an eco-friendly product. A really potent idea…..

Can Deer Antlers Hold your Phone??

Posted in design, interior design, product design with tags , , , , , on December 18, 2008 by anonimiss

The Socket Deer designed by nendo made me smile…..These electrical outlet covers let you put your mobile phone on the wall as it recharges. The antlers are already the perfect shape to hold things, so the designers hardly had to modify the forms at all. The handsets are held tightly by the covers made of tough urethane rubber, which also protects the antlers from breakage should you bump into them. Socket-deer could also be used as a cover for light switches, and the antlers make an excellent hook for keys or accessories.

Fold Away your Bicycle!

Posted in design, product design with tags , , , on December 16, 2008 by anonimiss

I liked this bicycle – Grasshopper – designed by David Gonçalves for the 12th International Bicycle Design Competition. The bike consists of a foldable electric city bike, which could be carried around as a trolley and recharged when at rest. Great idea, attractive solution.

An Eco-Conscious Water Bottle

Posted in design, graphic design, green with tags , , , , , , on November 28, 2008 by anonimiss

The 360 Paper Bottle is a truly innovative packaging from Brandimage, which involved itself in every stage of design including concept development, branding, prototyping, engineering, and product design. The 360 Paper Bottle is the first of its kind in the world, and a true environmentally-friendly solution to the problem of plastic water bottles. The designers’ idea was to design a container that would leverage sustainability, be
easy to transport, and enhance the consumer’s drinking experience. The Bottle is the first fully recyclable paper container made from 100% renewable resources and offers a versatile range of consumer applications as it can stand up to all types of liquids. The Bottle is made from food-safe and fully recyclable materials and decreases energy consumed throughout the product life cycle without sacrificing functionality. Thumbs Up!!
